Concepts Wing Chun has been established since 2002 and is dedicated to promoting quality Wing Chun tuition,self defence training and personal safety awareness courses for the general public and organisations. With the ever growing need for people to become healthier, fitter and to protect themselves or their family, Concepts provides relevant training in a relaxed, friendly and professional environment! The Wing Chun that is coached at Concepts is a solid, practical martial art that works and is trained and tested under pressure to ensure quality and good results. Concepts does not condone violence or anger, so sessions are open to all who would like to participate in a martial art, become a healthier person in mind and body and to bring out the best in you! Whether it is a general interest in martial arts or something that you would like to become integral to your way of your life, we can help achieve this with excellent training and understanding of the Wing Chun system and encourage you all the way!
Les Rist Wing Chun is a big part of my life having trained it now for over 16 years, both here in the UK and Australia. I have been fortunate enough to train with quality teachers / masters who have shared their knowledge with me over the years and still do, as I regularly update my knowledge to keep me well informed and to add to my skill set. Being a keen traveller I have spent several years living abroad and touring countries such as India, Thailand, Burma, Laos, Malaysia; also trekking in the Himalayas (Nepalese region), the Sierra Nevada (Spain) and mountains of Turkey. I now use this experience and knowledge to run courses advising people on safe travel prior to their trips abroad. In the early 1990's I was a Territorial Soldier serving with the R.E.M.E. participating in many outward bound activities including climbing, abseiling, canoeing and mountain craft; leaving the forces to travel and live abroad. I now work part time for West Sussex Council in Sports Development , delivering sporting activities for young people and as a British Military Fitness instructor based in Brighton and Hove developing and delivering fitness sessions, in addition to running Concepts.
