What is wing chun ?
In simple terms wing chun is a system of self defence which is very
direct and to the point.
Do I need to be fit ?
No , but with regular training you will become healthier in mind and
body which will possibly encourage you to get fit.
Is it good for women ?
Yes, wing chun was devised by a woman, so rather than fighting strength
against strength, we use our stance / structure and body positioning
to redirect force and overcome strength and aggression.
Are there competitions ?
No, wing chun is not a sport, training is specifically for self defence
and personal growth.
Will it help me Relax ?
In time, again with regular training, Wing chun is most effective when
mind and body are relaxed, the mind stays calm and centred whilst the
body reacts how it needs to at that moment in time.
How can I join ?
The first class is free and all classes are drop in.
However there is a 12 week introduction period and after that if you
enjoy your training and are keen to join, with the right attitude, you
will be invited to become a member
A code of conduct is in place so there is no misunderstanding of the
training sessions, and provides a positive environment for all students
How long will it take for me to become competent?
How big is the universe?
Wing chun is a journey and with dedicated training it does not take
long to become a proficient practitioner. However the more you get into
the art the more you realise how much more there is to learn, about
the art and yourself, which goes beyond fighting and self defence.
All training is carried out in a fun and friendly atmosphere, working
together to help improve our skills, knowledge and personal development.
To attain knowledge, gain something every day
To attain wisdom, lose something every day
